    Making a Big Sign Signal

    Online Sign song Choir

    During these unusual times, Red Earth Theatre is working in collaboration with Affinity Signing Choir to bring a bit of joy in to our lives by creating an Online Sign Song Choir.

    What is Sign Song?
    Sign Song – is another way to perform songs using the body and sign language, instead of singing. Songs lyrics are translated into signs that show the meanings and feelings of the song. It is very visual and performances are often stunning to watch. It’s a great way for both d/Deaf and hearing people to perform their favourite songs together.
    Who Can Take Part?
    Anyone…From beginners to fluent signers. You might already sign songs yourself, you might be part of a signing choir, or you might be interested to find out what it’s all about. Whatever the reason, we want you to join us to make a Big Sign Signal across the nation.
    Any age restrictions?
    This is a family friendly activity. Everyone is welcome. All we ask is that participants under 18 years bring an adult with them.
    How do I take part?
    Together Affinity Signing Choir and Red Earth are holding Online Sign Song Choir sessions for people who are interested in taking part.

    🎶 “SONGS FROM THE MUSICALS” – from Disney’s Frozen to Mama Mia

    💻This time we will bring you FREE signed song workshops so you can learn how to sign the songs line by line.

    🚨This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone, including those who know BSL or have never signed before!

    The workshops are each Friday in June. They will be run on Zoom video conferencing. The program is very easy to use if you have never tried it before!

    There will be a waiting room so please arrive for 6:45pm
