Double Take

past show

Show Dates: 8 November 2004 - 3 December 2004

Red Earth Theatre & Nottingham Playhouse – Roundabout T.I.E

Double Take is inspired by the lives of African-Caribbean twins June and Jennifer Gibbon, who grew up in rural Wales in the 1970’s. Their battles with each other and the challenges of teenage life led to experimentation with drugs, alcohol and sexual relationships. Eventually both sisters were incarcerated in Broadmoor Prison after being convicted for theft and a series of arson attacks.

Merging text, music and movement this fast moving, highly charged and thought provoking play promises to help us all explore the challenges of being a teenager in an ever more demanding adult world.
